David Luning – Blue Plate Special Knoxville 4.22.17

If you love a harmonica battle then David Luning and his band are what you’re looking for.

You might know David Luning from his audition on American Idol in 2013. Luning was attending Berkely College of Music when it hit him that music is what he was supposed to be doing. He left school to pursue a career as an Americana or alternative country artist.

It was just Luning and his bass player, Ben Dubin. Luning and Dubin are amazing musicians. They’ve got so much energy that they get you into the music, it’s so soulful. It just seemed so easy to make a connection with Luning and his music.

Luning and Dubin had the crowd going wild with his song, “Ain’t Life A Beautiful Thing”. I’m pretty sure Dubin was playing a floor drum, bass and a harmonica all at once during that song. It was pretty impressive to watch them.

David Luning played at East Tennessee’s own, WDVX Blue Plate Special. Six days out of the week, WDVX hosts live, in-studio performances in front of an audience.
